Peking University × OxTium Technology | The 3rd Graduate Summer School on "New Technologies for Smart Watershed Management" Successfully Held

August 2026

Recently, the 3rd Graduate Summer School on "New Technologies for Smart Watershed Management" was successfully held at Peking University's Yan Garden campus, hosted by the College of Environmental Sciences and Engineering, Peking University, and co-organized by Shenzhen OxTium Biomedical Technology Co., Ltd. (OxTium Technology).

As a co-organizer, OxTium Technology was deeply involved, joining over 50 participants from universities and research institutes across the country at Yan Garden, engaging in a five-day systematic study and in-depth exchange on frontier topics such as the intersection of watershed management and artificial intelligence.

OxTium Technology has long focused on the cross-disciplinary application of cutting-edge technology in life health and ecological environment fields. Co-organizing this summer school is an important practice for the company to promote the integration of industry, academia, and research in "AI + BioScience."

The summer school featured a carefully designed three-tier progressive module: "Frontier Lectures — Methodology Teaching — Scenario Practice", helping participants build a complete learning pathway from theoretical understanding to hands-on practice.

At the opening ceremony, Professor Liu Yong from Peking University delivered a keynote on the evolution of environmental modeling paradigms in the AI era. Experts from Tsinghua University, China Municipal Engineering North China Design & Research Institute, Beijing Green Future, Xiamen University, Alibaba, and other universities and enterprises gave invited talks on topics such as large models and intelligent agents, AI-enabled urban water safety, AI-enabled wastewater treatment, machine learning for water quality prediction, and AI for Science.

In the methodology teaching and scenario practice sessions, participants systematically learned methods for multi-source data acquisition and preprocessing in watershed science, and conducted hands-on training on large language models and intelligent agent platforms, mastering core AI-assisted research skills such as task decomposition, prompt design, code generation, and iterative optimization.

During the results presentation session, participants presented their learning outcomes in groups, covering key issues such as abnormal water quality identification, wastewater treatment plant load prediction, lake ecological model optimization, water transfer scenario optimization, pollution driving mechanism analysis, and groundwater risk warning, demonstrating the application potential of deep integration of intelligent technology with diverse watershed science scenarios.

Zhou Tianyao, Co-founder & COO of OxTium Technology, stated that OxTium Technology will continue to collaborate with universities and research institutions to support high-level academic exchanges and talent cultivation, and continue to contribute to industry-academia-research cooperation in the AI+ general BioScience field.
